|} Phi Mu (ΦΜ) is the 2nd oldest secret organization for women in the United States. It was founded at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia on January 4, 1852 and was announced publicly on the fourth of March of the equivalent season. A original title for this class action was a Philomathean Society. Phi Mu's deuce-ace founders come Mary Myrick Daniel, Mary Dupont Lines, & Martha Hardaway Redding. Within 1904, a Philomathean Society became a Greek letter organization Phi Mu. A term "sorority" got non eventually been coined, & the organization is known as a "fraternity for women."

Now, Phi Mu occurs as heavy Greek organization, by owning assibilate 150 collegial chapters through a United States & all over 150,000 initiated sisters. Phi Mu's national philanthropic gift is Children's Miracle Network, which raises money to support children's hospitals across the country.

Within 1904, Phi Mu became the member of the National Panhellenic Conference and added additional chapters.
